TOUR DE YORKSHIRE 2019

News

Tomorrow marks the start of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019! Kickstarting in Doncaster this year, the four-stage race will hit all four corners of the county before finishing in Leeds City Centre on Sunday 6th May.

After being inspired by the Grand Départ in 2014, this is the fifth edition of the men’s race which has this year been upgraded to HC by the UCI and will visit 150 villages, towns and cities on its route. The Asda Tour de Yorkshire Women’s Race will also take place over two days on 3rd and 4th May.

As cycling enthusiasts and their families gather for the big event, we didn’t want you to miss out on our top spots for sipping a Slingsby G&T or Slingsby cocktail throughout this year’s route.

The Ivy, Harrogate

After all that cheering on day two on the Tour de Yorkshire, it’s time to enjoy a sophisticated Slingsby G&T in a tranquil environment. True to its spa town location, sit back and relax as you escape from the crowds and indulge on a fine menu of food and drink. Weather permitting, you could also dine in its terrace garden.

… And just a stone’s throw from Montpellier Quarter, you could also pop in to the Spirit of Harrogate store to pick up your favourite bottle to take home or sample some of our experimental gin recipes.

Westpark, Harrogate

Staying in Harrogate for the whole Bank Holiday weekend? The West Park hotel, restaurant and bar is Harrogate’s destination venue to sleep, eat and drink. Overlooking the stunning Stray, the restaurant provides an all-day menu including a courtyard for dining al fresco and some refreshing Slingsby G&Ts on a spring afternoon.

Foundry Project, Harrogate

Calling itself the happiest place in Harrogate, carry on the Tour de Yorkshire celebrations at the Foundry Project in the heart of Harrogate town centre. Whether you’re looking for late-night cocktails or a boozy brunch with a side of G&T, this is a great place for a Bank Holiday weekend.

If you’re in Harrogate for the whole Tour de Yorkshire weekend, also check out Threes a Crowd, The Yorkshire Hotel and Fat Badger.

Ink Bar, Scarborough

Sun, sea, sand and Slingsby! We may not be able to promise sunshine, but we can certainly guarantee a refreshing Slingsby G&T by the seaside on day three of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019. Welcome the contestants back to the town of Scarborough as they race to the finish line along North Bay.
