Today marks the start of May, the month that brings us two Bank Holiday weekends and usually the year’s first taste of British sunshine.
After four very busy months at Spirit of Harrogate and just before we enter an action-packed summer, we’ve decided it’s time to sit back and celebrate the very best bits from 2019 so far.
The Launch of Gooseberry Gin
We introduced the newest addition to our Slingsby family, Gooseberry Gin. The unmistakable tang of Yorkshire gooseberries, tempered with a fruity sweetness, balanced perfectly with our citrussy London Dry base.
Maitre Choux Partnership
As you may know, we’re all about the finer things in life and couldn’t think of a better celebration of indulgence than Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin and the finest éclairs around. Created by the first and only choux specialist patisserie, Maitre Choux, we gave you the Slingsby Rhubarb Éclair.
First New Zealand Listing
This year we also got our very first listing in New Zealand. Society Liquor is New Zealand’s craft liqueur subscription service and online shop – a great way for Kiwis to discover the world’s best craft spirits, including Slingsby London Dry, Navy Strength and Rhubarb, from the comfort of their own home.
World Duty Free Manchester
Our World Duty Free listing expanded over the Pennines to Manchester Airport. With London Dry, Rhubarb and Gooseberry on offer in three terminals, the airport team was also sampling from the tasting bars in terminals one and two – what a way to start your holiday!
The Man Behind the Curtain Collab
We collaborated with Michelin starred restaurant The Man Behind The Curtain to create a luxurious and unique tasting gin. Distilled with Yorkshire botanicals, plankton and Exmoor Caviar, it has an added level of luxury in mouthfeel and finish, refreshing savoury notes with incredible minerality.
Harrogates Sunday Freeway Service
We were very excited to announce our sponsorship of the Sunday Freeway service! Bringing people from all over North Yorkshire to relax, indulge and socialise in our historic town centre. Offering a free ride on The Harrogate Bus Company's electric services which in turn; cuts back our carbon emissions and promotes local businesses, as well as letting you grab a G&T and return home safe and sound!
Polo in the Park Birthday
In April, the Spirit of Harrogate team attended Polo in the Park’s 10th birthday party at La Martina London, serving up Slingsby G&Ts and cocktails to guests. More Polo in the Park news coming soon so watch this space...
The Harrogate Spring Flower Show
Another great event in April was the annual Harrogate Spring Flower Show. Our #kerbcouture inspired store and botanical talks were a big hit – Slingsby Gooseberry Gin most definitely stole the show!
What a brilliant four months we’ve had, but don’t worry it gets even more jam-packed and exciting from now on. More will be revealed very soon so stay tuned!

Tour de Yorkshire
Tomorrow marks the start of the four day Tour de Yorkshire caravan tour. Keep your eyes peeled for the Slingsby and Carthy & Black Land Rovers which will be visiting all four corners of the county, getting the crowds ready to welcome this year’s cyclists.
The Great Yorkshire Show
We are returning once again to the Great Yorkshire Show, a highlight in our events calendar each and every year. For the 2019 event, we’re sponsoring the fashion pavilion and big wheel and will have our very own Slingsby bar for you to relax and enjoy a refreshing G&T in.
