If you’re a gin lover like us then it’s highly likely that you’ve either got a great negroni cocktail up your sleeve already or you’ll jump at the chance to try a new one! We cannot resist a negroni ourselves, so we thought why not put all of our favourite recipes in one place?
For those who don’t know, a negroni is a cocktail made up of gin, vermouth, Campari and is traditionally garnished with a fresh orange peel. The cocktail originated in Italy and has been loved and enjoyed for many years since.
So, how do you enjoy a negroni Slingsby-style we hear you say? Well, it looks something like this…
Slingsby Negroni
For those of you who don’t like to steer too far from tradition, this is the recipe for you. It uses our classic London Dry gin which has a wonderful grapefruit base that really shines through in this cocktail.
INGREDIENTS
30ml Slingsby London Dry Gin
30ml Campari
30ml Vermouth
INSTRUCTIONS: Add the 3 ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir well until chilled. Strain into an old-fashioned glass with fresh ice and garnish with a twist of grapefruit peel.
Marmalade Negroni Cocktail
When we think of a negroni, we imagine something of tangy and zesty so what better than our Marmalade gin? A drop of sugar syrup is a gamechanger here but it’s small enough to let the flavours of our gin shine through alongside the vermouth, Campari and grapefruit juice.
INSTRUCTIONS
25ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
25ml Sweet Red Vermouth
25ml Campari
20ml Grapefruit Juice
5ml Sugar Syrup
INSTRUCTIONS: Stir down ingredients with ice in a short glass and garnish with an orange peel twist.
Rhubarb Negroni
Looking for something a little sweeter? Our Yorkshire Rhubarb take on a negroni has an amazing mix of flavours and zesty pink grapefruit has the perfect finishing touch.

25ml Slingsby Rhubarb Gin
25ml Sweet Red Vermouth
15ml Campari
10ml Aperol
INSTRUCTIONS: Stir down ingredients with ice in a short glass and garnish with an orange wedge and a pink grapefruit twist.
Blackberry Negroni
Our blackberry gin has a lovely rich almost blackberry jam flavour which makes a delightful addition to this negroni recipe. It’s also perfectly suited to the change of season as it has a serious autumnal feel – this may just be one of our favourite tastes of autumn!
INGREDIENTS
30ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
15ml Sloe Gin
15ml Campari
15ml Chambord
15ml Rosso Vermouth
2 dashes of Peychaud's Bitters
INSTRUCTIONS: Stir down all of the ingredients with ice for around 30 seconds and you're done. Garnish with a fresh blackberry and grapefruit peel to finish.
