Happy Afternoon Tea Week!
In celebration of National Afternoon Tea Week, we’ve put together a run down of the best Afternoon Tea experiences in our own wonderful hometown of Harrogate.
Bettys
They hail themselves the home of Afternoon Tea and with reason! The world famous Bettys tea rooms provide you with everything you’d want from a classic British Afternoon Tea. Transporting you back to 1919 when Bettys first opened with their classic offerings and waitresses in traditional uniform. It’s Harrogate in a nutshell, classically beautiful.
Hotel Du Vin
Hotel Du Vin does Afternoon Tea differently and we like it. If you’ve got a sweet tooth and like something a little quirky HDV’s Afternoon Tea is the place for you. Their innovative afternoon tea is quite the show stopper topped with two flavours of candyfloss. With classic savouries, it’s the desserts we shout about especially the Gin and Tonic sundae. The best part is instead of tea you can opt for a refreshing G&T to wash down your tasty treats.
Rudding Park
If you’re looking for a little indulgence Rudding Park Afternoon Tea is just that. Served in the gorgeous hotel conservatory this afternoon tea provides you with cakes made by their in house pastry chefs and freshly baked scones the melt in your mouth. The Mint tea is picked fresh from the hotel’s kitchen gardens, the same gardens that provide many of the botanicals in our gin. They also replenish your sandwiches which we think is key.
Wild Plum
Situated above the stylish Snooty Fox, The Wild Plum provide a delightfully floral Afternoon Tea in their little cafe. This Afternoon Tea is the perfect spot for a girly catch up or celebration. Everything decorated in edible flowers is also one of the most picturesque Afternoon Tea experiences! With menus changing weekly, you’re always going to get something new and exciting.
