In case you didn’t know, Slingsby Gin is the NEW official gin supplier of Ascot Racecourse, and that includes the most anticipated race meeting of the year, Royal Ascot! To celebrate this, we have collaborated with Michelin star and resident Royal Ascot chef Ollie Dabbous.
Ollie Dabbous, who The Guardian called ‘one of the most wanted chefs in Britain’, exploded onto the London food scene with his eponymous restaurant in 2012. Today he is at the helm of Hide in Piccadilly, one of the most ambitious culinary projects the city has ever seen.
In the lead up to Royal Ascot, Michelin Star Chef Ollie visited us in Harrogate to create his own bespoke Slingsby gin serve, which he will be serving to guests at his brand new, trackside Royal Enclosure restaurant ‘Sandringham’ this year at Royal Ascot. During his visit to Slingsby, Ollie carefully hand-selected our botanicals and fruits from the amazing Rudding Park Hotel kitchen garden, to include in his bespoke Slingsby gin serve. He also worked with our Head Mixologist Alex through the distillation process to find his preferred style and create the perfect bespoke gin for Royal Ascot, which is designed to pair perfectly with his menu.
When we caught up with Great British Chef, Ollie Dabbous, here's what he had to say about his time with us...
“Working with a like-minded British brand like Slingsby is a total pleasure. I really enjoyed the Master Distillers experience and the botanicals in the bespoke gin serve I have created pairs perfectly with the Sandringham menu for Royal Ascot. I am really looking forward to seeing how the guests respond to it and I hope they enjoy it as much as I do.”
As the official gin supplier to Ascot, Slingsby will have exclusive pouring rights across the racecourse during Royal Ascot, which is held in June. Slingsby Gin will have exposure through exclusive branding and activations, branded bars for the season and inclusion in event coverage which is broadcast in almost 200 territories around the world.
