Just a short walk from Harrogate’s Hornbeam Park, situated above Snooty Fox of Harrogate, the Wild Plum is definitely off the beaten track.

However, I had heard good things about it and wanted to try it out, so took my friend along for a spot of lunch and boy were we impressed!

From the moment we walked in and made our way through the beautiful dress shop to the coffee shop upstairs, I knew we were going to be in for a treat. The coffee shop itself is small, with the capacity to seat around 35 people but all the food is lovingly prepared and baked on the premises using only the very best, fresh and local produce.

The lady who served us was very friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu, ingredients and much to our delight…their gin menu! The lunch menu has so much choice that we could have been there for a while sampling everything, but as we had limited time, we quickly picked something from the menu and eagerly awaited it’s arrival.

This is what we went for…
Coronation Chicken With A Twist
Lime Curry Mayonnaise, Savoury Granola, Pickled Girolle Mushroom on Homemade Sourdough
Fresh Prawn Salad
Served with Hand Cut Lettuce Leaves, Cucumber, Peppers, Red Onion, Beetroot & Home Made Marie Rose Sauce
Wild Plum Soup Of The Day

From the amazing presentation to the epic ingredients, we were impressed from the get go. The amount of detail that went into both our dishes was phenomenal and the taste was even better! I wasn’t sure how you can ‘dress up’ a chicken sandwich and a prawn salad but apparently you can…and to great effect. From the open style sandwich idea to the most delicious mushroom soup I have ever tasted, we definitely got the “wow” factor in taste, flavour and presentation.

Well done Wild Plum, we’ll definitely be back again!
