You’ll find the majority of the independents in the quaint Montpellier Quarter and our Spirit of Harrogate store is located at 5-7 Montpellier Parade. Montpellier Mew Antiques Market
There are unique finds around every corner inside Montpellier Mew Antiques Market. Well known in the area for art, ceramics and the finest antiques, this is the place to find the perfect present for your loved one with a penchant for the out of the ordinary.
Inside you’ll find everything from fine jewellery, watches and vintage furniture, to one off vases, antique oil paintings and silver trinkets. We particularly love their pieces of framed lace, beautiful and so intricate, great for an interiors-loving friend.
Betty’s
It’s impossible to go Christmas shopping in Harrogate without popping into Betty’s! Their Christmas window is always a joy to behold. Betty’s always create some really special gift boxes for the festive season and this year is no exception.

Westmorland Sheepskins
Two minutes’ walk from the Spirit of Harrogate store, you’ll find the family run Westmorland Sheepskins. The store specialises in top quality sheepskin, leather and wool garments and homeware. And they’ve been trading for 30 years – a fantastic achievement for an independent business!
In here you’ll find gifts to suit every price range and every single piece oozes luxury. There are sheepskin gloves and mitts, earmuffs and slippers (perfect for the father-in-law!) for both men and women. And there’s also some real showstopping pieces for the home, such as sheepskin rugs, wool blankets and beautiful cushions.
Farrah’s of Harrogate
If you’ve got a foodie friend then look no further than Farrah’s. Famous for their Original Harrogate Toffee, Farrah’s was established in the early 1800s and is synonymous with the spa town. Their toffee is also favoured by the Queen!
But it’s their chocolate boxes that we’ll be buying for our friends this Christmas. Create a bespoke box of the finest Belgium and English chocolates that you know your loved one will adore. There’s a huge selection to choose from in store, with flavours like apricot cream, cappuccino and Turkish delight.
H2K
Another fantastic independent business, H2K was born in the year 2000 and we just love their skin care products. Well known for their use of Kalahari Melon Seed Oil, which has regenerating properties, any of their gorgeous products would make the perfect gift for your special someone that could do with pampering themselves.
Owner, Hazel, recommends items from the Organic Lifestyle Collection this Christmas. With cucumber, seakelp and aloe vera, the products in this range are soothing and hydrating for the skin. Choose from hand & body lotion, bath & shower gel or conditioning shampoo.
Covet

The shop, in the Montpellier Quarter, is just bursting with unique gift ideas. You’ll find candles in every colour of the rainbow, stunning glassware, quirky stoneware, jewellery, taxidermy, trinkets and so much more.
Spirit of Harrogate – Slingsby
If you ask us, there’s nothing better than gin for Christmas. But we might be a tad biased. Surprise your favourite gin fanatic with a gorgeous, limited edition Slingsby gift set.
